Vanez Year 2021 : Goals

Listening to: Heart of a Servant (CHC), How Much Do I Love You (Cityworship), Miracles (CHC),

Past 30 and halfway to 40, a new 10s of the millennium.  I regret my foolish way of living from Year 2010 to Year 2020, the wasted time and money spent over the past 10 years on good food and broken relationships.  As someone who eagerly yearns for a committed and lasting relationship, I've put in tremendous efforts to knowing people and getting in and out of rs and have blindly live my past 10 years with the wrong spirit, wrong attitude and wrong perception towards life and relationships.

No way am i going to keep wasting my time and life the next 10 years again. Yup, I'm mid 30s now and my wake-up call came late.  But late is better than never right?  Deuteronomy 31:6-8 "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” God has never left me since the day I met Jesus first at St Francis of Assist when i was a K1 kid. He is patient and waited faithfully for me to go back to him.

The Holy Spirit prompted me to look deeper into my inner self, to change my perspective of people and life and to grow deeper in my spiritual walk.   Basically for this year, I choose to focus on myself - Finding who am I, what I want and killing the negative sides of me.

1. Spend time with the Lord first thing in the morning,
2. Complete 1 bible reading plan chapter daily,
3. Be Kind, Be Patient and Be Gracious.  Showing love and concern.
4. Self-motivate myself everyday on my self-worth in Christ,
5. Write/Pray thankfulness daily,
6. Note down bible verses,
7. Be consistent in self-care (love myself more first),
8. Time-management during office hours and me-time off office hours,
9. Complete reading 1 book per month,
10. Lose 15kg by end April 2021 (healthy eating and exercise)
11. Consistent in my monthly savings,
12. Making time for friends at least every quarter,
13. Enrol for social worker certification (Oct 2021),

14. Practice the 9 fruits of the Spirit (Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.)

01 January 2021 (01012021)

01012021

Repeat digits of '0', '1' and '2' only but the digit changes every passing day, isn't it?  Its like we are continually going through the same experiences till we fully learnt that particular life lesson and its only then that we are able to move on to overcome another life lesson.  That comes the saying: :"Life is a learning journey".

Its just a random thought to start blogging again and I'm surprised to see my old blogs when I login to my blogger account. The last time I blogged via Blogger was 11 years ago in 2010 and looking back at some of the old posts, I thank God for all the ups and downs in my life thus far.

Its interesting, isnt it?  How time and experiences changes our thoughts, our preference and our seeking.  From reading books by Catherine Anderson, Cecelia Ahern, Danielle Steel, Jill Mansell to more inspirational and spiritual by Joyce Meter, Joseph Prince etc.

1st day of a brand new year, I believe there are like-minded souls out there who want to let go of the past, learnt from those experiences and start a brand new goals and visions. And I sincerely believe there are also souls like me who fail to persevere in their goals 😛.

And there are amazing souls like Jonathan who perseveres.  He is a Christian friend I got to fellowship with in Oct 2019. A loving and caring God-follower, he is a role model I prayed that God will transform me to.

(Blogged halfway and went for early dinner with sis and fren)

Lord, thank you for my first Year 2021 dinner with Sis and Grace. Thank you for the time of fellowship and sharing.  May the spirit of fellowships continue with other people and i pray that you use me to show your love, patience, forgiveness and kindness to others. In Jesus name, Amen.

1st CHC online service - Pastor Kong Hee: Vision For 2021

Pastor Kong Hee: Vision 2021

Ephesians 3:16 "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit."

Grant = Permit.  God is about to do something amazing.

Daily Reminder: Everyday I want to be a positive and encouraging person. Don't be a office politics person.

Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

1. U gonna hunger and thirst. The more u eat, the hungrier u become. The more u drink, the thirsty u become. Drinking - holy spirit.

2. His Righteous. Righteousness = character of the kingdom. We are changed on the inside to be more and more like Jesus. What we cannot do externally, God want us to do internally.

CHC 2021 Vision

1) Be Intentional in Cultivating Christlikeness,

Mission: Develop Self control in your life.  Learnt to be patient and kind.

1.1 - The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

1.2 - We are made in the image of God. The point of an image is image.  To display, to point, to represent the original. We are to be reflector of God in this world. We are believers, loving God and showing to the world.  To be Christian is to be little Christ.

1.3 - The 9 fruits of Jesus, our working checklist. Romans 14:17 ""For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." To be like Jesus more and more, day by day.

1.4- We must daily choose to love God and people, to forgive people.  Intentional choice to cultivate Jesus likeness. Learnt to be patient and kind.  Don't be irritable and don't be angry easily.  Luke 21:19 "Stand firm, and you will win life." Learnt not to be anxious, trust and rest in God. Don't gossip.  Don't be captivated by anything you read on the internet.  Be a kind and encouraging person.

1.5 - Daily mission: Everyday encourage someone at home, don't allow disloyalty to rob u of the favor of God.

2) Be Intentional in Unconditional Love

Mission: Unconditional in love and forgive, derive joy and satisfaction simply by act of love regardless if you received positive response anot. Learnt to love unselfishly and learnt to forgive. If you gonna love, you gonna be a forgiving person.

2.1.1 - Love unconditionally. A happy marriage require 100% commitment. Marriage is a lifelong commitment. Hosea (Love forgives and does not condemn) and Gomer (serial adulterous, 3 children but 2 belong to other man).  God use Hosea to reflect His Love for Israel.  Hosea keeps loving Gomer despite knowing her unfaithfulness and chose to forgive and keep loving her again and again (no condemnation).

2.1.2 - Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her".  Love and forgiveness, 2 sides of coins.  There are no limits in love and forgiveness.  Forgive with no strings attached. Don't set a limit on how much you are willing to love and forgive or willing to wait. You are willing to wait even after 4-5 years. It is for better or worse.  So long as u set limit and condition, what you have is not true love.  It is selfish love. Learnt to love unconditionally like Jesus. God's way - You can be unfaithful to be, I will become faithful to you. Unless you reject or renounce Jesus. Jesus will never suggest divorce. Pst Kong never cut anyone off, unless they cut him off first.  He will always be your friend and pray for u.

2.2 - What happen if your partner cant love u with love and affection over time? Jesus's way - if u cant love me with your all, at least treat me as your friend. Friend spent time talking, try to be kind with words, patient with what you are saying. Love is the greatest motivator.  God first loved us first and moved our hearts that we love him back.  Love is sacrificial, asking and expecting nothing in return.

2.3 - Jesus and Peter love. Put your faith in God.  god way higher than our ways.  marriage is more than love, romance and sex.  Agape Love - develop the way god love, the love of heaven.  Ephesians3:18 "may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ," There will be a joy unspeakable and full of glory if u can love your partner with no limit (no width, no height, no length and no depth).  A fulfillment in God that is more satisfying than romance and sex.

2.4 - There is more purpose than romance and sex. All the romance and sex u experienced in this life can never be compared with the joy in heaven.  Agape Love - The ability to express love in love itself, to love and serve unconditionally and unselfishly regardless that person is nice or not.

2.5 - For singles, don't be pressured to get married.  Jesus , Paul and many apostles are single.  Learnt to love your family, sisters, friends, church brothers and sisters.  Learn to be patient, kind and gentle not needing any positive response in return.

Agape Love: The act of loving is satisfying and fulfilling enough. Attention, Appreciation and

3) Be Intentional in Marketplace Discipleship

Mission: Be sure your wealth and success is from God, not Satan. Focus on spiritual growth, focus vivification and mortification, focus on winning souls for Christ.

3.1 - We are in the World but not of the world.  Our spiritual values must be different from the world. Not be rich, fame, popular, enjoy life.  We believe and focus on the kingdom and righteousness of God.  Be disciple of Jesus, follow Jesus, winning disciples for Jesus.

3.2 - Success can come from God, but it can also come from Satan.  What's the difference? Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it." Blessing of God adds no sorrow to it (sorrows: resentment, no time for God, unhappiness etc).

3.3) Mortification and Vivification

Mortification (Negative) - Progressive killing of sin as it manifest itself in us. We kill every rebellious habit , every self-indulgent habit.  We kill pride, greed, lust, anger, envy, gossip

Vivification (Positive) - Inculcating and strengthening of Christlike habits in us. The 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit - Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Growing and maturing in a new creation.

3.3.1 - Not my will but yours be done.  Everyday ask God, how can I glorify your works, how can i show your greatness and goodness so that people will know who you are.
